§ 18-151. Definition.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this division, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Garage sale means any sale or offering for sale of personal property by a person of a family or other household unit, such personal property having been acquired, possessed and used by the family or household for personal, as opposed to business or commercial, use, when such sale is to be or is conducted at the present residence of such family or household, or conducted by a church or charitable or nonprofit civic organization. The term "garage sale" includes sales commonly referred to as patio sales, driveway sales, yard sales and other such sales. The term "garage sale" shall not include the sale or offering for sale any goods on consignment.
